Safeguarding policy document

Board-approved safeguarding norms for cohorts, volunteers, digital tools, and referrals. Suitable for printing or PDF export from your browser.

1. Purpose

The 777 Foundation Society is a survivor-led BC society. This policy sets minimum safeguarding standards for peer cohorts, volunteer roles, digital tools, and consent-based referrals.

2. Scope boundaries

  • We do not provide emergency response, legal representation, or clinical therapy.
  • Facilitators redirect crisis situations to 911 or 988 immediately.
  • Volunteers do not give legal or clinical advice in any channel.

3. Participant privacy

  • No public naming of participants, employers, or case details.
  • Consent required before any referral or information sharing.
  • Minimum necessary information only in referral packets.
  • Group sessions avoid collecting unnecessary identifiers.

4. Digital safeguarding

  • AI Guide is scope-limited — no PII in chat; see /docs/ai-scope/.
  • Incident reports reviewed within 48 hours for scope breaches.
  • Admin analytics are aggregate and de-identified only.

5. Facilitator duties

  • Complete onboarding at /portal/training/ before facilitating.
  • Use per-session checklist at /admin/cohort/.
  • Report concerns via /safeguarding/ incident form.

6. Review

This policy is reviewed quarterly by the board safeguarding lead. Last updated: May 2026. Questions: contact@the777foundation.org
